Chef Catrisa Turner
Chef Cat Turner was born and raised in Trussvillle, Alabama. There she spent the majority of her life in the kitchen. Learning from her grandmother & mother, she is a third generation chef. With over 15 years of experience in food & beverage industry, she is a force in the kitchen. Chef Cat Turner studied culinary abroad through an apprenticeship in Germany & Austria.
Chef Cat Turner has held titles of Sous Chef, Exec Sous and Executive Chef. She spent seven years in a smokehouse in Alabama. Where she learned the importance of fresh ingredients and earned a respect of food. Chef Cat Turner also worked for Marriot & Ritz Carlton hotels in banquets and fine dining. Where she trained under Executive Chef Alexander Busch. Chef Cat Turner was also mentored by Chef Jason Ellis of the hit show “Hell’s Kitchen” Season 7. She has worked alongside many great chef and created a strong lane of her own.
Chef Cat Turner has been in love with food her entire life. Her presentation of plating is simplistic & modern. Chef Cat Turner has an amazing eye for detail. She has trained culinary students from South Korea, Ecuador, Peru, Thailand, Turkey and The Philippines. Whom later gone on to be chefs in some of the world’s best resorts & hotels. Chef Cat Turner has received many accolades in her career such as “Top Millennial Chefs; by ESSENCE magazine, Ten women killing the culinary game; by ESSENCE magazine, Chef of the Year 2018 nominee; by IBE Gala”. She recently did an interview by SHEEN magazine on “Becoming Vegan”. Also, for ESSENCE magazine on “Confessions of a black female head chef taking charge in the kitchen.” She is more than deserving of all these accomplishments and acknowledgements. Chef Cat Turner has created cuisines all over the world. Her talents have taken her to Berlin, Germany; Vienna, Austria; Brooklyn, New York; Burbank, California; Dubai, United Emirates; Tulum, Mexico; Cape Town, South Africa and Atlanta, Georgia where she currently resides. In Atlanta, Chef Cat Turner works for Delaware North Sportservice as Chef for the Major leagues baseball team, Atlanta Braves premium clubs at SunTrust Park. Where she is the first female chef and chef of African-American descent. Chef Cat Turner is continuously pushing boundaries of the norm and opening doors of opportunity for her gender as well as ethnicity. She is a proven leader and asset to the culinary world.
